In 1978 Lucy was involved in the National Youth Theatre production of ‘The Petticoat Rebellion’ at the Roundhouse Downstairs and this educated her about the struggle of women to get the Vote. In 2015 she was cast as a ‘Stunt Suffragette’ for the Sarah Gavron film ‘Suffragette’ staring Carey Mulligan.
This talk is about both these experiences and the history of the Suffragettes which she tells in a lively dramatic style. We get to hear the words of some of the actual women themselves who were at the heart of the Suffragette movement and sing-along to the great Suffragette Anthem, The March of the Women!
“Thank you so much for your talk today, my Goodness, how our members enjoyed your presentation!”
