“What a super talk you gave us yesterday! I certainly enjoyed it and from the comments of others it was a great success! I always feel that when there are questions afterwards it shows you have kept the audience enthralled. When we next visit the cinema we will be looking at the film from a new viewpoint. Your enthusiasm for your chosen profession was evident, long may you continue and I will watch the credits for your name in the future. Once again, many thanks. Your input helped in large part to ensure the success of the afternoon”

“One of our first speakers returned and delivered ‘Freefall’. She was and still is one of our best ever speakers with great stories and a very engaging delivery”

“We really enjoyed hearing about The Ship of Dreams. Those of us who hadn’t already seen the film were now keen to view it. Our members are always keen to learn about such ‘behind the scenes’ film sequences and a very lively Q&A time ensues. Thus a successful meeting.”

“This month, June, we were treated to a talk on the history of RMS Titanic with an insight into the production of James Cameron’s Oscar-winning film Titanic by speaker Lucy Allen. Lucy is a stunt performer and had worked on the film for 21 weeks in Mexico. She enthralled our audience with her descriptions of her experiences there and gave us all a ‘world premier’ of her specially-produced promotional film which showed many of her stunts on the Titanic set. This was the third time that Lucy has appeared as a speaker at our u3a and we would welcome her back again. Her sparkle and enthusiasm keeps the audience interested and wanting more.”

“From the chat afterwards and the amount of WhatsApp messages the ladies really enjoyed it. Definitely love to have you speak again, all being well. The Woman’s Institute were strongly affiliated to the Suffragette cause!”

“Lucy has been a regular speaker at our U3A theatre group and her entertainments have always been very popular with our group. Her latest was the premier of her talk on Witches which was both funny, sad and thought provoking for the group. We came away also thinking of the injustices which were done to many women and also men over the years all over the world.”

“To refer to Lucy Allen’s visits to our Theatre Group as ‘Talks’ is very much an understatement. She is a very vivacious person who enthusiastically and energetically acts out her appearances. Her day job is as a stunt person so we were treated, as always, to little anecdotes. On this occasion it was about her work on several Harry Potter films. Lucy ended this visit by passing around her witches hat for us to pick the name of someone condemned of witchcraft so we could look them up on the internet. Very enjoyable.”
